EEO-1 Suspended
Pay Data Reporting on EEO-1 is Suspended.
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) placed an immediate stay on the pay data collection portion of the EEO-1 Form on August 29, 2017. Employers required to submit an EEO-1 Form must still report data on race, ethnicity and gender by occupational category by the previously set filing date of March 2018 using fourth quarter 2017 data. There is no EEO-1 Form filing required in 2017.
Pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act, OMB is initiating a review of the effectiveness of evaluating employer compensation practices in relation to the burden placed on employers to collect and report the pay and hours worked data. Acting EEOC Chair Victoria A. Lipnic stated that she hopes the stay “…will prompt a discussion of other more effective solutions to encourage employers to review their compensation practices to ensure equal pay and close the wage gap.”
